Our lives in London began seven years ago when my wife, Josephine and I moved to the UK when it became obvious her father was not coping with living alone and needed help after a massive stroke. We did not think for one minute we’d still be here seven years later.
Josephine’s background was in the cosmetic industry where she was training manager for Clinique and then brand manager for Christian Dior South Africa. This involved plenty of travel both locally and internationally. A busy and glamorous lifestyle was on tap, but with many challenges especially after our daughter was born.
I ran my own business as a designer: clothing, interiors, gardens and homes where my artistic flair found a very pleasant home. It enabled me to work from home and care for our daughter when Josephine travelled.
We also both trained in ministry and counselling. This meant our days were filled to capacity as we’d be practicing during our after hours schedules.
Our life back in South Africa seemed idyllic. We ran our home as a guest house as well as a thriving coffee shop, which we both enjoyed. But it also overran our lives. We had plenty of social interaction as we both love people, but we were always busy trying to please people and make them feel comfortable.
So moving to London seemed easy as we’re both naturally optimistic people. I for one thought London would be my oyster, but it turned out to be a clam! I never factored in the weather, emotional upheavals and certainly did not bargain for all that went with living and caring for an old man. We knew very few people and felt like fish out of water.
We were approached to look at Forever by an old friend, but as I was plugging away at another network marketing business, I swept this opportunity aside for many months until I found myself at a business presentation.
I heard what I needed to hear: international business, pension style income and the ability to leave a legacy for my daughter.
We have been in the business now for four years. It has given us what we needed. We travel and enjoy all the new people that come into our lives through our business. We have also experienced many health benefits. Too many to list in a short article, mainly our energy levels soar, clear heads and no more post nasal drip.
What we love with Forever is that it is not geographically challenged: we can operate in over 150 countries. It’s not gender specific – both men and women succeed in this business and also it is not age restricted either. Anyone over the age of 18 can tackle the business. Plus, it is ideal for us as we are both in our latter years.
We are thrilled to know we can go anywhere and build wherever we are. We now have an international business growing in South Africa, Zimbabwe, Dubai and Oman with start-up customers in quite a few more countries. Forever is delivering all it said it would on the box.
